Leymebamba and environs are a bird watcher’s paradise. Several species of hummingbirds visit our feeders and flowers, including the endemic marvelous spatuletail. Our forest land, located a twenty-minute drive from Kentitambo, protects cliff-side nests of the Andean condor. The forest also harbors myriad species of tanagers as well as gray-breasted mountain toucan, golden-headed quetzal, speckle-faced parrot, among others.
A juvenile condor crash-landed in a field near our forest land.
This video documents its release into the wild.
